In the development of WorkerAnt, Dhruvin Dave played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and designing the user interface and experience. Collaborating with a team comprising Subham Chakraborty, Tushar Patil, Devendra Vithalpara, and Kinjal Thakkar, Dhruvin utilized tools like Miro, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Protopie, Invision, and Jira to bring the project to fruition. User Research

To understand the needs and pain points of presentation designers and their clients, we conducted user interviews and surveys with a group of professionals in the field. We asked about their current process for managing presentation projects and the challenges they faced. We also asked clients about their experience with the quotation process and their preferences for collaboration with design teams. Based on this research, we identified the following key requirements for the project management tool:

Ease of use: The tool should be intuitive and easy to navigate, so designers and clients can start using it right away without a lot of training.
Collaboration capabilities: The tool should allow designers to easily share and collaborate on documents and tasks with team members and clients.
Quotation module: The tool should allow clients to generate customized quotes for their projects and collaborate with the design team throughout the process.
Project tracking: The tool should provide an overview of the project status, including tasks that have been completed and those that are still pending.

After gathering our initial research, We had a pretty solid idea of our target market and potential users. But we needed some more first-hand insights to make sure we come up with the right solution. So, we went ahead with user interviews to empathize with the users and understand their needs and wants. For this project, we focused on 2 user groups:

User Interview-Freelancer

We interviewed 6 users, All interviews were done virtually, We Prepared a set of questions that I came up with after going around the problem statement a couple of times and doing a few short brain-storming session with the team and stake holders. The answers presented below are generalized for easy understanding.

Q. Can you tell me a little bit about your background and experience as a freelancer?
I've been working as a freelancer for about 5 years now. I started out as a graphic designer, but over time I've expanded my skill set to include Presentation design & Professional Documents. I've worked with a variety of clients, from small businesses to large corporations.
Q. How do you typically find new clients or projects?
I mostly find new clients through word of mouth and referrals. I also have a portfolio website where I showcase my work. I also use freelance job platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr to find new projects.
Q. What are some of the biggest challenges you face as a freelancer?
One of the biggest challenges is finding a steady stream of work. As a freelancer, there can be periods of time where work is slow, and it can be difficult to predict how busy I'll be from month to month. Additionally, it can be challenging to manage my own time and stay motivated when working from home.
Q. How do you handle communication and project management with clients?
I use a variety of tools, including email, phone calls, and project management software such as Asana or Trello. I also establish clear communication protocols with clients from the start, including regular check-ins and progress reports.
Q. How do you handle deadlines and time management as a freelancer?
I use a combination of calendars, to-do lists, and time tracking software to stay on top of deadlines and manage my time effectively. I also make sure to set realistic deadlines and communicate them clearly with clients.
Q. Can you tell me about a particularly challenging project you've worked on and how you overcame any obstacles?
One challenging project I worked on was creating a website for a new startup. They had a very tight deadline and many requirements, and the client was very detail oriented. To overcome this, I established clear communication protocols, and made sure to keep the client informed about progress throughout the project. I also prioritized the most critical tasks and focused on completing those first.

I make sure to set clear expectations and guidelines for revisions with clients from the start. If a client requests changes, I listen to their feedback and work with them to make revisions that meet their needs while still aligning with the original scope of the project.

I typically have a set rate for my services, but I am open to negotiation based on the scope and complexity of the project. I also make sure to clearly communicate what is included in the cost and any additional costs that may arise.

I use a combination of calendars, to-do lists, and project management software to stay organized and manage my workload. I also make sure to set clear priorities and focus on one task at a time.
Q. Can you tell me about a project you are particularly proud of and why?
One project I am particularly proud of is a website redesign I worked on for a non-profit organization. The organization had a very limited budget, but I was able to create a visually striking presentation that met all of their needs. As a freelancer, I am able to set my own schedule and take time off when I need it. However, I make sure to communicate any planned time off with clients well in advance, and set up a system for handling urgent matters during my absence.
